1. Overview

Friends SocialSync ("SocialSync," "we," "us," or "our") is a social-media scheduling service available at social.friendsguidetravels.com. This policy explains what information we process, why we process it, how long we retain it, and the choices available to you.

2. Information we collect

• Account information: name, email address, authentication identifiers, and an encrypted password hash when password sign-in is used.
• Connected-platform information: platform account identifiers, account or page names, OAuth access and refresh tokens, token expiry dates, and permissions you grant.
• Content: captions, hashtags, uploaded media, platform-specific versions, schedules, publishing status, and platform post identifiers or links.
• Operational information: timestamps, publishing attempts, error messages, and limited technical logs needed to secure and operate the service.
• Configuration information: preferences and settings supplied by administrators or users.

3. How we use information

We process information to:

• authenticate users and maintain accounts;
• connect authorized social-media and business-profile accounts;
• prepare, schedule, and publish content at your direction;
• refresh authorization tokens and report publishing results;
• provide AI-assisted content formatting when requested;
• detect failures, prevent misuse, maintain security, and support users; and
• comply with legal obligations and enforce applicable terms.

We do not sell personal information or connected-platform data. We do not use social-platform data for advertising or unrelated profiling.

4. Social-platform data

SocialSync only requests permissions needed for the features you choose. Platform data is used to identify accounts, publish approved content, and display status. Our processing is also subject to the policies of the connected provider, which may include Meta, Google, LinkedIn, TikTok, Pinterest, and X.

You may revoke SocialSync's access through the provider's account settings. You may also disconnect an account in SocialSync. Disconnecting stops future publishing; contact us if you also want stored integration records and credentials erased.

5. Sharing and service providers

We disclose data only as needed to operate the service: to platforms you direct us to publish to; hosting, database, storage, email, queue, and AI providers acting for us; professional advisers; or authorities when required by law. Providers receive only the information needed for their function and are expected to protect it. We do not authorize them to sell your data.

6. Data retention and deletion

• Account information is retained while your account is active and as needed to provide the service.
• Drafts, schedules, media, publishing history, and connected-account records are retained until you delete them or request deletion, unless a longer period is required for security, dispute resolution, or law.
• Operational logs and error records are retained only for a reasonable period needed for troubleshooting, security, and legal compliance.
• Residual copies may remain temporarily in encrypted backups and are removed through normal backup rotation.

To request deletion of your account, connected-platform data, or other personal information, email social@friendsguidetravels.com from your account email. We may verify your identity before acting on a request.

7. Data security

We use administrative and technical safeguards appropriate to the information we process. OAuth credentials and configured application secrets are encrypted at rest; passwords are stored as one-way hashes; connections use HTTPS in production; access is restricted by authentication and account ownership; and publishing jobs are isolated and logged for reliability. No system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute protection.

8. Your rights and choices

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of personal information, or to receive a portable copy. You can also revoke platform permissions at any time. Contact us to exercise these rights. We will respond in accordance with applicable law.

9. Children's privacy

SocialSync is intended for business and professional users and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10. International processing

Our service providers may process information in countries other than yours. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the service or legal requirements change. We will publish the revised version here and update the date above. Material changes may also be communicated through the service or by email.
